Breakfast at Tiffany's has been a hot commodity since it's first publication. It has numerous editions and has been published in multiple languages. One of the reasons for all the book covers that we talked about in "As Artifact" is the fact Penguin or Signet focused on advertising. Advertising is "an essential aspect of a publisher's business" because it "involves connecting books with their audience." (Lamb, 2017) Keeping Breakfast fresh and attracting new audiences to it involves a lot of movie tie-ins and updated covers. "Great books, like every other kind of book, are new only once, and for a only a short time." (Garner, 2009)
Breakfast at Tiffany's also spawned a massively popular film. It is more romaticised and comedic than the novella and stars Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly. It was nominated for best original music score at the Oscars the year it was released. The movie is a star turn for Hepburn and catapulted her into a fame that she couldn't dream of previously, "the movie relies heavily on her childlike screen presence to preserve the pristine sentimentality that lies beneath its couldn't-care-less facade. " (Smith, 2001)
